Kleen-Tex Industries is pleased to announce the addition of The Turtle Mat Company to its family of businesses. On Tuesday, December 20, Kleen-Tex Holdings (UK) acquired all shares of Turtle Mat Company from Mark Whitney, who has owned the company since 2004.

Turtle Mat is the most recognized consumer brand for residential doormats in the UK. Turtle has a thriving e-commerce and mail-order business and sells through more than 300 trade customers including, leading UK retailers, John Lewis, Lakeland, and Countrywide.

"Turtle’s strong distribution network makes it a perfect fit for expanding the Kleen-Tex product portfolio into additional channels,” explains Bruce Howard, CEO of Kleen-Tex. "Our two companies share a similar passion for providing unique, high quality products with exceptional marketing and customer support,” states Howard.

The Turtle Mat Company will remain an independent operating company.  Susan Leaver, who is currently Turtle Mats’ Commercial Director, will assume the day-to-day management of the company as Director and General Manager. 

“Kleen-Tex has a wealth of product expertise and market knowledge, which puts us in a strong competitive position. The acquisition presents new and exciting opportunities,” says Susan Leaver.

After more than 12 years of being owner and Managing Director of The Turtle Mat Company, Mark Whitney plans to enjoy his well-earned retirement.
